When I received this I was immediately impressed with the quality of the packaging, colors, and simple design on the Umidigi G9 Tablet box. I was greeted with a well-packed and protected product. The box is padded and compartmentalized to protect the tablet and the tablet comes with a pre-installed protective case with a built-in cover that folds back and doubles as a stand and also a pre-installed screen protector. There is also an additional screen protector in the box for future use. Included in the box is a 3-foot silicone usb-c to usb-c charge cable, a fast-charging wall wart, a stylus so you don't have to touch the screen with oily fingers, a tf/sim card ejecting tool, and the instruction manual. The instruction manual is simple and precise and written in 6 languages - English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, French, and Chinese. After removing the tablet from the box, I plugged the charger in expecting to need to fully charge it before use, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was already charged to 98%. It took less than 2 minutes to charge to a full 100% using the provided charger and cord. After it was fully charged I pressed the power button to turn it on, and it started up very quickly and brought me to the initial setup screen. Anyone who has purchased a new Android device is familiar with the tedious setup process. When it reached the point where it asked if I wanted to copy data from another device I chose Yes and connected one my cellphones to the tablet and it copied all of the data quickly, and without issue.I am impressed with how fast and responsive the tablet is. It doesn't hesitate at all to touch inputs using either my finger or the included stylus. Changing screens or opening apps is lightning fast. The video quality is bright and crisp, but the audio is just average and could be improved. The speakers are located at the bottom on both sides and I found that the sound projects better while holding the tablet near the bottom and cupping my hands so it directed the sound toward me. The speakers sound like they are playing in a plastic shell, which they essentially are, but they do play at a reasonable volume without noticeable distortion. The overall sound quality definitely could be improved. This is a tablet, however, and not a home theater system, so I wasn't expecting a THX experience anyway, and the sound was more than sufficient to enjoy some streaming entertainment. By plugging in a set of headphones or earbuds into the included 3.5mm headphone jack or connecting via Bluetooth the sound was vastly improved, and if you want more impactful sound, this is the way to go. Both options work incredibly well. The Bluetooth was very good, and while testing it I was able to leave the tablet inside on a table while I went outside of my house to do some work and it never lost connection. The GPS required initial calibration, but after doing so it was extremely accurate and pinpointed my exact location when I tested it using both Google Maps and Waze. The tablet also has a built-in FM Radio which performs very well and picks up a good number of local stations. It does require a pair of wired headphones to be plugged in to operate because the headphones/cable act as an antenna for the radio, but when tested it picked up more of my local stations more clearly than one of my car stereo systems does, so I was kind of impressed by that. The tablet has Dual SIM capability so that you can have your local SIM card and a foreign SIM card for wherever you are traveling, or you can use the second SIM slot for a Micro SD card to expand your storage space, supposedly up to 1tb which I was not able to test because I am not fortunate enough to have a 1tb card. I am however using a 256gb card and it works well with that. I tried to put my Verizon SIM card in the tablet but it would not work, and I found out that the tablet is just not compatible with the Verizon network. It is compatible with the T-Mobile network though, and I am currently using it with Mint prepaid, which uses the T-Mobile network. It works well for data, and text, but when I tried to record my message for voicemail it was a little muted like the mic wasn't picking up my voice very well. I think using Bluetooth would solve this issue.I have included several pictures of the tablet itself and the items included in the package, a picture of a clown taken with the main camera, and a second one of the same clown taken with the rear-facing camera to show the quality of both cameras.I would give this Tablet a solid A and if the audio quality from the speakers were better I would give it an A+. At the price point of this tablet, and the solid performance and wide compatibility with other devices, it is easy to choose it over many of the big-name brands. I have owned several tablets from other brands, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one to anyone looking for a quality tablet at an excellent price!
