High quality adjustable stand works great for my iPad Air, has wire management so cables are nicely stowed it’s a quality stand for bedside, couch etc. I highly recommend.PerfectI’ve tried a few stands and this one seems to be the winner. It’s sturdy and very functional. If I could change anything, it would be for a wider extender to hold my iPad Pro not longways but side to side. It holds the iPad securely but because the grip only fits sideways (even though I can turn it) I can’t charge my Apple Pencil because the grip is in the way. The Apple Pencil attaches to the iPad to charge. If the grip extended out further to fit the iPad normally, that would allow for the Apple Pencil to charge as well. For a single tablet use, other than an iPad mini, this stand/holder is quite good. With my iPad Air 2 it works very well. But for the iPad mini gen 1-5 the largest included grip holder has to be used but it won't work on the side in portrait mode meaning the gripping holder has to go on the top and bottom. The problem is that the bottom grip gets in the way of the home button and also blocks the speaker holes thus creating a degraded sound experience. The medium size included grip holder won't work at all for the iPad mini. The included small grip looks like it should work fine for smartphone use as it grips on the sides. The overall construction is good and the silver and white iPad matches perfectly the silver and white stand/holder.This stand looks amazing in the images, and has great reviews. This won't be one of them.I was skeptical about the long feet on this stand, but bought it anyway because it seemed so versatile - but it's really not. To use it with different devices, you literally have to take the holder part off and replace it with a different one. (Three device holders are included.) Good luck with that, since to do that you have to use the tiniest screw ever designed, and screw it into place using a tool that doesn't fit or work with the screw. (I ended up using a ball point pen, with only marginal success.)The top arm only really moves left or right, and the vertical height is useless unless you want to lie on the floor to view your tablet. My bed is average height, with an average mattress (no fancy, fluffy toppers), and at the top height this sits at *almost* the right height for viewing in bed. I have no idea what you'd do if your bed were higher - and I have no idea why anyone would need it much lower than that. (I suppose maybe seated in a chair it would work at a lower height.)The top arm isn't long enough to put the device in front of my face while lying in bed like it shows in the picture, though. Instead, it reaches only part way and I have to turn my head to view it. That stinks, because the only reason I bought this was so that I wouldn't have to turn my head and create neck strain to view my tablet while reading or watching a show in bed. I'll try repositioning it, but I'm not holding my breath that it will work. The piece that holds the tablet does appear to have good motion - but it is stiff and requires two hands to get into place. It did keep my Kindle in place without moving, so that's the one point I'll give it. But then I have to take that point away because the spring mechanism holding my Kindle tablet presses directly on the volume and power buttons. (I kept mine in its case and moved the holder so that it held the back of the case instead of the tablet itself.)Another issue is that once you're done with the tablet and want to go to sleep, there isn't a quick and easy way to move it away from your head. There are no wheels, the top arm is limited in range of motion and stiff, so basically you have to shove the entire stand away from the bed in order to go to sleep without fear of either sitting up and conking yourself out with the tablet, or stepping out of bed right into the stand. But wait, it gets better. Assembly is a joke. Not only is the screw that holds the tablet piece in place the world's tiniest, with a tool that doesn't work to screw it in, but Every. Single. Piece of this otherwise simply designed stand was ridiculous to assemble. (I had just assembled a 50+ piece item before this, which was a breeze!)The pieces for the feet went in pretty easily, giving me a false sense of hope that this would be easy. But then the center pole wouldn't screw into place - and the tool included for this purpose wasn't even remotely the right size (it was gargantuan!). I was just about to give up on it after multiple tries (using a different allen wrench from a completely different product) when finally the screw found the sweet spot and tightened. Then there's only 3 steps, so you'll think you're in the clear. Wait for it...The extender arm that holds the tablet has to be connected to the center pole, but the design is terrible (and tricky to describe, so I won't bother). You have to loosen one large hand crank and a small screw to *just* the right amount of tension so that the arm slides into the pole - but not so much that one or both of the screws come out. Too tight and it won't slide; too loose, and everything goes flying. I lost connector pieces down the hole of the center pole at least four times, and each time I had to dump the whole thing upside-down to get them out. After that comes the world's tiniest screw debacle, but once that's in, you'll be ready for bed! ;)So basically if you don't mind spending a stupid amount of time trying to assemble this thoughtlessly designed product, don't mind craning your neck to view your tablet, and don't mind that it's completely in the way of you getting out of bed, then this is the product for you!My second purchase of this item. The first I left on the east coast...I love this thing, really. But, the pivoting holder at the top of this stand is now made of plastic. I have a jumbo iPad, but like most folks I have a case on it! While it fits, barely, the spring is at its max. I fully expect this to snap shortly. Bummer, because the version I purchased a few years ago was top notch. It works well and stable, pretty versatile. but I would have liked to see a little more height, which could have been achieved easily by having a pole or rod inside the main shaft that you could slide up or down to adjust for height. (for bedside use) also the main arm should pivot around the main pole at least half way around or 180 degrees. (not sure if they were worried about the weight of the tablet tipping it over?) because the feet has to slide under a table or a chair or wherever you want to use it so if there is something in the way of the stands feet you can't move it in or under, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. lets be honest. they could sell this for $30 and still make profit.I read many of the reviews before buying this. I wouldn't have done so, without Amazon' return policy. I have to admit, I haven't had any of the problems some have listed. I've had it for a month now. It sits next to my reclining couch and holds me Surface Pro 3 notebook. I use it every day, surfing the web/social media, playing card games or puzzles, and reading the Kindle app while watching TV. The height it perfect. I used to hold my Surface in one hand and navigate with the other, eventually getting stiffness in my arm or neck (or both). Now, the notebook is held up at eye level (so it's about level with the television (making reading on it during commercials very easy). When I need to scroll, my arm is supported on the couch armrest, so I'm just using from the elbow down without any weight on it. It sounds complicated, but the point is, it's much better for my joints (arthritis) and makes "multi-tasking" much easier. I am really glad I got this. It's quite flexible (I read in portrait and play game in landscape). And it's sturdy...so far. If it falls apart tomorrow I'll let you know! This stand is very modern looking, versatile for many types of applications, lightweight, and built to a very high standard of finishing. It can hold an iPhone or iPad at any angle (so doubles as a photo stand), can sit beside a desk and pivot in virtually any angle (as well as move up and down about 36" with ease), can be used beside a bed as the legs easily slide under the bed, and can be used as a fully portable zoom or skype stand for video conferencing. We purchased this specifically for a disabled adult, who receives zoom videoconference calls from a physiotherapist during Covid. The stand holds an iPad, and the caregiver can easily move it from one location to another, tilting it in any direction so that specific exercises can be observed during the videoconference. We have also attached flexible plastic coils with a lanyard to the holder on the stand, so that the other end of the coiled plastic can be attached (with an adhesive ring) to different remote controls. Previously, the disabled adult would often drop remote controls off the bed at night and be unable to retrieve them: now the flexible coil (about 6" long) attached to the stand holder prevents the remotes from falling off the bed, and allows easy grasping. Overall, this stand is terrific buy.Used three different units that I returned because they were useless. This is the one to buy. Works great no complaints. Easy to assemble in 2 minutes. Sets up for sitting or laying down. Made my 6 months of chemo a little bit more bare able. Yes you may Pay a bit more and you won’t regret itDoes the trick..shipping was more than the product! Not worth the expenseFantastic product but the height needs to be 1 foot taller to use in bedMy tablet slowly falls out as the ho.der part is not strong enough
